Tim King Graphic Design - December Playlist

An early Christmas present for your ears as I’m going offline for a couple of weeks over the Christmas and New Year’s break. Over the break, it’s supposed to be a hot one and these tracks will keep the beads of sweat flowing, so stay hydrated.

First up we have Laurence Guy with Wichita Falls. I saw this UK DJ and Producer a couple of weeks back at Tokyo Sing Song, and boy was his set impressive. A great mix of uptempo house tacks, combined with some deeply melodic tunes. Wichita Falls is one of favourite tracks by this supreme talent. I absolutely love Laurence Guy’s ability to mix so many different genres into one track. There is something for everyone. From soothing sax to a buzzing bass line, it has it all. He keeps producing the goods.

Keeping the bass and groove flowing, French born DJ and Producer Immersif has created a delicious and sophisticated lounge track. The bass line provides the underlying structure with the piano evolving throughout this soothing arrangement. I envision this track being played at a secret high class rooftop bar overlooking a city on a beautiful cloudless Summers night.

I’m three songs in and the groove keeps coming. Wilt, another French DJ and Producer, has blessed my ears with the seriously rich melodic track, Blue. Minimalism is utilised at its finest in this composition. This track has exercised great restraint and uses the subtle introduction of different elements sublimely.

Next up we have Miro, an Argentinian DJ and Producer with You Made My Soul. This track has copious amounts of punchy bass, lo-fi vocals and jazzy keys, all mixed into one dance floor hit. The piece doesn’t muck around. Within moments of starting, the bass is guiding the way. The bass line sits colourfully in the background, providing the track fullness and strength. Hats off to you, Miro.

I’m leaving you with a 10 minute funky house journey with Australian born, UK based DJ and Producer Loods, with Sweetness. If this track doesn’t get the sweat running, I’m not sure what will. This track drew me in with its genius use of repetition, subtle breaks (so you can catch your breath), samples and fantastic funky sound. The trumpets!

Have a happy and safe Christmas and New Year’s. Until next year, keep moving forward.
