Winter is coming (sorry, I had to drop a Game of Thrones line in here - I couldn’t resist) but not just yet. March put on a glorious show of deliciously moderate temperatures and stunning sunsets in Sydney.

To start the March playlist, I’m introducing you to Two Tail, a DJ and Producer from Manchester. His track - Doubler A Twice - starts with some boozy and woozy Sunday afternoon silk. Gradually, intricate drum patterns and subtle samples enter the mix, filling your ear holes with a very soothing and mature sound. The assortment of crisp drums, slow guitar, delay drenched trumpet and bassline add a sophisticated lounge scene to this track while you’re sipping on a stiff Old Fashioned.

Next up, we have Australian born, Berlin based, DJ and Producer, Jad and The, with Matano Trumpet. I’ve gone a little deep with trumpet for these first two tracks, mainly because the trumpet is used so exquisitely executed. Matano Trumpet is a comforting combination of warm trumpet, dowsed in delay, a punchy yet orb-like bassline, surrounded by other mysterious sounds. This enigmatic and hypnotic track is so delicately arranged, it takes me on a journey that allows me to drift away longingly.

I have to admit, when I heard the first 15 seconds of this track Play, by Seattle DJ and Producer, 5HTTP, I thought it was going to be a heavy club track. I was pleasantly surprised when an extraterrestrial soft synth washed over my ears and filled my head. More supernatural sounds fire off in the distance. The first lead, almost crow like, only higher in pitch, enters and lightens the mood of the track entirely. The lead, disappearing into the shadows, is greeted with a deep and round bassline to continue the journey. I picture watching the sun slowly retreating for the day as you start to feel the coolness of the air run over your skin.

Upping the ante, this track by Frenchman Laroze, has energy, nostalgic visions of disco, and bright inlets of groove. From the get go, it is game on with this track, bringing a crisp clap, open hi-hats and punchy as hell bass. The samples throughout elevate the drive, while the funky bassline effectively assists in bringing the groove. If this track doesn’t get the people with oversized collars, shiny shoes and flared dresses dancing, I don’t know what will.

I’m finishing off with a roller skating, uptempo disco banger by Copenhagen legend iamalex. If You Like is pure boogie. With wet synths, sexy samples, and funky guitar riffs - it’s irresistibly groovy. If you like, pump this at a house party and your cool level will go through the roof, I promise.

Until next month, boogie safely.
