November 2018 Playlist

Playlist November - Tim King Graphic Design.png

November was a turbulent month, to say the least. A lot adjustments, a lot of deep thinking and the introduction of meditation into my routine. Taking the weather into consideration, as well as my state of mind, this month’s playlist starts in a deeply moving fashion and progresses into some seriously sunny house tracks.

I often find myself searching for tunes that reflect my current state of mind. This can be quite detrimental as I can fall deeply into a cavernous realms, that I’m not sure how to get of. L.D.C.N is no exception to this idea. This UK producer has delivered an intensely emotive ambient track, Looking Back Once More. Rich in reverb and delay, drifting through the spaciousness of the piece, it creates a strong atmospheric temperament. The track swells and recedes so artistically, it bring hope and despair all at once.

Adding a bit more energy and groove to the next track on the list is Manchester born producer Goddard, with his jazzy house tune, Gluttony Bay. You can never have enough bongo drums in a song and the introduction of this instrument provides a great rhythmic device that elevates this tune throughout. Loving the level of detail and progression in this piece. The lulls in this track connect the brighter and more energetic sections together masterfully.

Another Ricky Razu track coming your way! I am enjoying his name just as much I am enjoying creativity in music production. Motions is full of sunny vibes, with layers of piano, guitar and synths, taking you on guided tour through lush meadows and open highways.

Next up, we have the classy Swede, Ari Bald with Karlplan. Get ready for some more subtle bongo drums, driving bass lines, sexy samples, warm and wet synths, and groove for days! This is a serious sweat maker or background track to a Sunday arvo beer. Whatever you’re into. Maybe both (cue El Paso ad music).

I am leaving you with one of favourite tracks I have found to date by Copenhagen based producer iamalex. 1998 is a great introduction song to welcome in Summer. With its deep summery groove, funky guitar samples and tasty bass line, it is surrounded by positivity and endless bright vibes. From the beginning, this track had me hook, line and sinker.

Until next month, be kind to yourself.
